ALCOHOL AWARENESS AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAM
As part of Alcohol Awareness Month April 2025, the Department of Agada Tantra of Sri Ganganagar College of Ayurvedic Science and Hospital organized an academic and community outreach program for second year BAMS students. The students visited the de-addiction center at Dr. S.S. Tantia MCH & RC, Jan Seva Hospital, to conduct an observational study and gain practical experience in addiction management. During the visit, students observed the condition of individuals undergoing treatment for various substance dependencies. They were introduced to the centers management protocols, including detoxification, Ayurvedic and allopathic treatments, dietary and lifestyle interventions. The importance of counselling and psychological support in preventing relapse and supporting emotional recovery was also emphasized. As part of their outreach, the students performed a role play to highlight the harmful effects of addiction, aiming to raise awareness and promote a drug-free lifestyle. The initiative provided students with valuable hands-on learning while spreading an important social message about holistic addiction management.
