The President's Message
Tantia University enjoys the pride of being first and pioneering university in the North Rajasthan, instituted by the Act of the State Government in the year 2013. Over this short period of existence it has marched a journey with focused vision and goals aiming defined targets. I am happy witnessing the achievements of the university beyond set limits.
Having taken over the charge of the office of the President (Vice Chancellor) in the year 2016, my main thrust has been towards augmenting and mobilizing physical and human resources for raising the academic standards and accelerating development of the university to meet the national and international standards. I am more than happy while expressing my thanks to the whole university team for its fullest support for this cause of excellence.
Unfortunately, because of outbreak of COVID 19 pandemic in early 2020, many of the planned activities were modified, deferred or transformed into on-line mode. While the university through its medical team and sound infrastructure opened all doors to help the society over this period of crisis, turning adversities into opportunity it got more vigorously engaged to bring forth dividends in form of newer faculties and programs to run on campus. A Medical College with intake of 150 students and another Veterinary College with intake of 80 students started in 2021 are recognized as big achievement of the university since these are the first and of late only such institutions in the region run by a self-funded university. To cater the society with quality education with all modern amenities in these newer faculties, as for other faculties, is our primary aim.
The university lately in February 2024 organized its prestigious 2nd convocation in which degrees and gold medals to the students eligible by 2023 were awarded by the Speaker of the Lok Sabha of India Hon’ble Shri Om Birla. The grand function was witnessed by a galaxy of dignitaries.
Towards academic advancement, it is worth mentioning that the university has successfully introduced Post-Graduate and Research programs in its all faculties, duly approved by different regulating agencies wherever applicable. The university has signed MOUs with many national and international universities, academic institutions and industry to have cooperation and exchange of ideas for mutual growth. The University is executing its research program, yet another priority, strictly as per the provisions of the University Grants Commission to the effect. Incentives to the researchers and supervisors are granted to encourage quality research and publications. In order to stimulate the academic environment and to keep the faculty and students abreast with the advances in various spheres of knowledge, the University has been organizing a number of national and international conferences/seminars and many more are planned in near future.
Placements of the passing out students have been encouraging and more efforts are planned on this front. Special arrangements are also being focused on co-curricular and extra-curricular activities including the sports events. As a part of social commitment, good number of scholarships is granted to deserving cases.
The university offers not only an advance academic ecosystem but a safe green campus with unlimited opportunity for youth to grow and develop into not only a sound professional but a society-worthy human being. You are welcome my young friends!

Prof. M.M. Saxena is M.Sc. Zoology with specialization in Environmental Biology-Gold medalist, and Ph.D. from University of Jodhpur.
Running in the office of the President of Tantia University in his third term since 2016, Prof. Saxena has formerly served Maharaja Ganga Singh University, Bikaner in various capacities including Dean - Faculty of Science, Professor & Head, Department of Environmental Science, Director Research, Controller of Examinations, Chairman Central Library, Coordinator UGC NET, and Coordinator Self Finance Courses besides being the Member of the Board of Management of the University.
He has over 44 years of Research, Post-graduate teaching, and Administrative experience while working with Maharaja Ganga Singh University, Bikaner, University of Jodhpur, College Education- Rajasthan, and Zoological Survey of India. Prof. Saxena has been the Research Supervisor of MGS University, Bikaner, M.D.S. University, Ajmer, M.L. Sukhadiya University, Udaipur, IGNOU, New Delhi, and in this capacity he has supervised 22 Ph.D. and 26 M.Phil. scholars. He has to his credit over 160 Research Papers published in the journals of international repute, besides authoring 8 Books. Some of his books have been included as the Reference Books in the curricula of various universities. His major areas of research include Hydrobiology of the Indian desert with particular reference to freshwater sponges, leeches, molluscs, periphyton, bioindicators, trophic state indices, pollution ecology and aquaculture in addition to some minor areas like Microbiology, Entomology, Wildlife and Parasitology. He has been the Editor of an international journal of environmental and allied sciences during 1984-2009. He is also on the Advisory Board of many scientific journals. Prof. Saxena has represented over 125 national and international seminars/conferences, many in the capacity of the Chairman and Invited Speaker in India and abroad. He holds the credit of organizing two International Conferences. Thrice he has been invited to deliver Invited Lectures at the prestigious Indian Science Congress. He has undertaken 4 Research Projects funded by different agencies. Prof. Saxena is the member of different academic bodies of the various universities in the country. He has been a Resource Person and examiner for different Universities in Environmental science, Zoology, Fisheries and allied disciplines.
Lately, Prof. Saxena has also been awarded Honorary Doctorate of United Nobles Rescue Services, Stockholm (Sweden) & Abuja (Nigeria) for contribution to the field of Higher Education and Honorary Doctorate of Dynamic Peace Rescue Mission International, Lagos (Nigeria) for outstanding and dedicated services as well as Humanitarian services spreading peace and humanity throughout the world. He has been awarded by a number of agencies for contribution to the field of education and environment including Life Time Achievement Award for contribution to the field of Higher Education, Global Citizens Peace Federation, Palakkad, Kerala.
